Call for Papers: Special Issue on Precision Nutrition and Health

Engineering is an international peer-reviewed academic journal sponsored by Chinese Academy of Engineering. The journal is published on a monthly basis in English. Online versions are available through：http://www.journals.elsevier.com/engineering/.
Topic
The world is facing a global epidemic of diet-related chronic disease. Global Burden of Disease Study 2017 reported that about 11 million deaths and 255 million DALYs were attributable to dietary risk factors, in other words, one of every five deaths across the globe is attributable to suboptimal diet.
There are plenty of studies proved that interventions with nutrients can prevent, manage and even treat illness. However, factors such as individual genetics, dietary habits and eating patterns, age and physical activity result in the dynamic nutritional recommendations for both individual and population health. Therefore, precision nutrition became as the focus of future studies and has been listed as the topic in the National Institutes of Health Strategic Plan for Nutrition for 2020–2030 of USA. The special issue “Precision Nutrition and Health” welcomes submissions focusing on the latest finding about the regulation of nutrients in health and disease, as well as the biology and nutritional requirements during the whole lifespan.
Topics of interest
This issue will publish original research papers, reviews, meta-analysis, perspectives, and views & comments including but not limited to the following fields:
- Diet, nutrients and chronic diseases
- Biology of healthy aging
- Targets for precise intervention
Paper Length
Research Article: up to ~6000 words;
Review: 5000–8000 words;
Perspectives: up to ~3000 words;
Views & Comments: up to ~2000 words, with less than five figures or tables and less than 15 references.
